Green Acres!

Do you remember that t.v. show? It's the one with Zsa Zsa Gabor playing a woman who moves to the farm with her husband but she's really more adept at shopping on 5th Avenue.

It's really not quite that bad around here but, I'm tellin' ya, I probably wouldn't have dreamed of owning chickens on my own. Sure, Martha Stewart does it but, you know, that's Martha Stewart. Luckily, my mom raised us with fine china, antiques, pretty dresses and ducks and goats and ponies and rabbits and hens and dogs and gold fish!
(We're all allergic to cats, sorry!)

I'm afraid my posts are a titch schizophrenic.

One moment, I'm blogging about lace table cloths and the next, you have turtles.

What can I say? I married Tom. He spent his summer on the farm that's been in his family for generations and generations (The King gave them the land) AND, I live in the country!

This will help to explain this post.

I forgot our lovely ladies' (10 Rhode Island Red Hens) birthdays, this week! I was going to toss them some fresh greens and apples. I was even thinking of making them some spaghetti (tasty worms!)

Rats!

Better late than never.

Well, in their honor, here are some baby pics.

Happy Birthday Girls!

In celebration, I thought that I could share a video with you about the nobleness of chickens!

(Really, truly, it is worth it! Watch it to the end - it's not that long!)

Well,......

almost in the same breath.....

I am linking, once again, to Tablescape Thursday at

and, Show and Tell Friday at

I am sharing one of my very favorite posts. It's the one where my men and I had our own private tea, one stormy evening, after the whirlwind Ladies' Tea for 50.

Dear Friends, I want you to know, that I will not always be linking to blog parties. It's quite a bit of fun for me to "talk and share" tablescapes, as it were, but it, also, feels a bit like having a lot of company over! =] It's nice to have friends over for a visit but very pleasant to have a nice quiet chat with "just us".

Now, if you've read all the way through this post. There is a punchline!

We are getting 18 new baby chicks this Friday.

Where are we going to put them????

Love,
Katy Noelle

  1. Yes, I do remember the show and the tune! You know, it's funny I've always wanted to live in a farm but since I've always been a city girl I really don't know how I would have "really" behaved had I married a country boy. It's one of those things that will always remain a "what if" The video is great, the choreography is absolutely incredible, the leaps just in tune with the music :0) the names are to die for...what can I say? I'll be going to sleep with a silly smile on my face. Thank you my dear Katy! Good night XXX

  5. Sadly...to date myself...I do indeed remember the tune to Green Acres and can probably sing it! Ha! I love that green bird with the beautiful jewels ~ so sweet! And you know I love the baby chicks ~ 18 more? Not so hard to fit them in when they are little ~ a little trickier as they get bigger! :)

  6. Dear Katy Noelle,

So sorry I did not respond any sooner, but I have been away with my mum to visit her brothers in Limburg. Did you have a good time with your family as well?

I enjoyed your last two posts very much. The pictures with your boys and the puppies are lovely! I like the way you took the photo...close to the ground.

Congratulations on your award as well. You deserve it! You know I am a big fan of you as well. Your ten replies made me laugh - I have kissed the Blarney stone as well :-)!

Wish you a happy weekend. I am going to do some sewing!

    Lieve groet, Madelief
