I must ask you not to scream.

I only wish that this was a picture from a Welsh dresser in my own kitchen.

If you wonder where I've been, I've been painting our kitchen. I'm so sore and tired but half of my kitchen is already transformed and drawers are cleaned out and some cupboards rearranged. It's even clean under the microwave and on top of the refrigerator. I have a new lease on life. Okay, time for bed!

Here's a picture of the kitchen before we bought the house when we were just looking at it.

I must ask you not to scream.

It's a bit frightening and depressing to my mind but has some distinct possibilities.

We did do a lot of scrubbing and cleaning and my most wonderful sister in law slapped a coat of primer over the dirty yellow. Also, before we moved in, we were having a "paint all of the ceilings" marathon. It's amazing how much easier it is to paint them when there's no furniture to dodge with loaded paint rollers threatening rain. Anyway, the ceiling is already a beautiful color called "sea salt".

I've been asking myself if you really want to see pictures of my freshly painted kitchen. The renovations are barely begun after all. I've decided that I don't care. Sorry! I really want to show it to you. It's come out so well and made such a lovely difference. I'll post pictures when a certain something that I splurged on for the room arrives in the mail. (You Brits will absolutely - well probably - roll your eyes but it's new to me and is still making me laugh at myself. Now, there, oops, I gave it away.)

I'll leave you with some lovely pictures from Rose Arbour (the family business) that I took about a month ago. That will cleanse and refresh your eye palette after that horrific empty house episode I just put you through.

Uh oh! It makes me want to go shopping. Better go to bed instead! Goodnight!

Love,

Katy Noelle

  9. I love seeing cupboards filled to overflow like this, with lots of pretty china! You can meander over it for a long time!

I enjoyed reading your profile as well. I'm shy, very much a dreamer and would also play the piano 8 hours a day if I could.
Long story, but our piano burned in a fire. We haven't had one in three or four years. Neither my husband or I have ever lived without a piano and we both miss it so.

I'm now off to peruse your blog a little more. Have a happy day! ~smiles, Nancy
