Rose Arbour Tea Room

I had told you, last week, about a wonderful shipment of goodies that my sister got into Rose Arbour - my families' tea room, gift shop and B&B, in Chester, Vermont. I got to go and play store for a day or two and wanted to share what filled my dreams for several days after.

Sooooo,

come on in......

As you enter, you'll hear music.....

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

I don't have many words, today. Why don't you just have a look around. I hope that you have as pleasant a time as I have had!

Oh, and we happen to serve a desperately good scone.

Rose Arbour is so fun because it's a blend of Victorian and earthy french and lots and lots of whimsy.

I think one of the most exciting things is that my sister discovered a hidden treasure trove of Fortnum and Mason's tea. It's been 5 whole years since we've been able to get any! 'Queen Anne tea' is like a happy heaven! Absolutely delish!

What is your favorite treasure piece? I came home with a cloche!

Have a lovely weekend!

Love,

Katy Noelle xxo

Thank you, Cindy, for hosting this well loved event!

I will, also, be participating in Mary's Mosaic Monday
at "Little Red House". This is a link to this past weeks gathering. She featured some gorgeous photos of barns. It makes me feel very, very humble, indeed.

  1. What a delightful place, Katy! I am in love with the giraffe cup and the silver magnifying glasses.

I thought about you last weekend. We were supposed to go to tea at the Ritz, but it ended up that we had to switch our plans due to a timing conflict. Well, we went to a very cute tea room with gifts, and I thought about you and sent you a hug over the miles.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  6. Dear Katy, What style, what glamour, and what fun. Oh to have the Rose Arbour Tea Rooms a stone's throw from one's own home. This is like stepping back into Britain of the 1950s when tea rooms, which have long since disappeared, were to be found in every village and town and 'homemade' meant just that.

Yes, when in London [as opposed to Budapest] there is still Fortnum and Mason but that, most sadly, has been restyled [revamped!] in recent years and is now nothing more than a honey pot for tourists.

However, all is not lost. When at Charleston earlier this month, and about which I have posted, I did, along with friends T. and G., enjoy an excellent light lunch, and later afternoon tea, in a very attractive, somewhat old fashioned tea room.

As for taking something away from Rose Arbour, I think that like you it might have to be a cloche.

  7. Katy,

I so enjoyed my visit at your families tea room. From the moment I saw the door with the basket of flowers fixed around the cane, I knew it would be a charming place.

We used to have a few tea rooms around here and each had small gift shops, similar to this. It was always a perfect place to have lunch with a friend.

I thought the giraffe cup and saucer were so adorable, and so unique. I'd probably take one of the cloche's home or some of that tea, though.

Thanks for taking us to tea with you,

    Nancy

  9. Oh Katy Noelle!!! What a LOVELY tea-room!!! But HOW do you keep on top of the dusting?????So many lovely little things - and they are ALL dust trapps! (I am NOT saying your pictures are looking dusty, NOT AT ALL! They don't!!! I am only thinking.....A LOT of work!!!!!)

Must have been SO much fun to bring all the those beautiful cups and tea pots together!!!! Not far from here is a lovley village with a tea pot pottery , will find the link for you - might be of interest to you and your sister, I do know that they ship abroad...

And Queen Anne - WILL try it!!!!

Now; scones - HOW do you have yours? Cream first and jam on top, or jam and cream on top - an ongoing discussion here at September Cottage, I go cream first, Mike jam first (and it is not a family thing - his sister has the cream first too...like me....). Can you get clotted cream in the States? And do you like strawberry or raspberry jam? OH, yum, could have one RIGHT now! And how about savory ones, do you like them? I do! With soup! Love it! MUST stop, this is making my tummy rumble....

AS for what would I have brought back.....oh, ALL the bird houses, the glass gloche, the little green house, the wire plant thingy...be easier to say what not :)!!!

Thank you for this LOVELY post!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

    Love

    Nicolax

  30. Dear Katy

I haven't been blogging much these days and have only just seen your comments on my last post. Thank you so much for the sweet award, somewhat undeserved at the moment since no poems, let alone posts, have appeared recently!!

So glad you are enjoying your summer. I love your family's tea-rooms - just the kind of place I like to visit on a summer's day here in England - the idea transposes well to beautiful Vermont!

    Take care.

I could walk around this house all day snapping photos. I hope you and your family are having a beautiful summer. Terri
