"Winter Storm Warning" ~ The Weatherman

Wait!!               What?!?!?

Today has been one of these kinds of days.

This is what I've been doing.

I've been rearranging my china cabinet.
(Making more room.)

As a matter of fact,

I'm pretty sure that this is what I will see when I close my eyes tonight.

I've finally figured out a place to display and keep my blue willow napkin rings.

At least, for a good moment or so.

Yes,

It's been one of these kinds of days, today.

Mostly quiet, cozy and elegant!

Love,
Katy Noelle xo

P.S.   Alina  had this kind of day, too, I think.

  1. Dear Kathy Noelle,

What a lovely way to spend your day! I always enjoy my cups and plates going through my hands and enjoying it's beautiful colours and patterns! I believe you are such a person as well. Am I right?

I notice that the 'colour' lilac is one of your favorites. It does look very pretty in your home and cupboard. Do you know which picture caught my eye immediately? It is the one with the chair against the lilac wall. It's absolutely beautiful! So simple, but very stylish. Love the way the colours of the chair, the wall, the cupboard and your little fairy lights on the wall combine!!

Well, I am off to my garden now. It's another glorious day in Holland!

Wish you a sunny day as well!

    Lieve groet, Madelief

Sleep well- here is it early in the morning. I think after that day with decorating and taking photos you need a lot of sleep :-)

  3. Dear Madelief, I DO so very much love playing with china! I really get teased about it but it's one of my favorite things in the world. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE your pretty china?!?!?!? =] Also, lilac, lavender, purple is my favorite color; although, I need other colors too! and this has given me an idea for another post - thank you.

I'm not sure how to word this. It's funny that you see the wall as a lilac. It was a very cloudy and dark day and I was desperately struggling to get clear photos WITHOUT A FLASH. If you only knew how silly my camera is .... Anyway, I think that made my wall, which is brown with a lot of gray and reddish undertones, look "purplish". I DO have a color just like this in my bedroom. It's called Shenandoah Taupe and is a Benjamin Moore color. Most of the time it's lavender but sometimes it's definitely brown and, sometimes, gray. It is a WONDERFUL and complicated and soothing color. There's a reason that I haven't really blogged about my bedroom but it's too long to explain. I will one of these days - it's just not done yet.

I don't think that I got any comments from your link BUT, I KNOW from my statcounter that I had a lot of visits from all over Europe. Several of them spent quite a bit of time looking around. (I can tell that from the statcounter, too.) It was thrilling to see where people were coming from! Also, the post that you linked too is one of my very favorites. I think that it was another case of "great minds think alike". Thank you so much for that!!!!!

Well, I hope that you're having (or possibly HAD) a lovely day gardening. It is indeed snowing here but it is supposed to be extremely summery on Saturday. THAT is Vermont, for you!

    Love, Katy

  5. Katy, I could get lost in your china cabinet! Royal Doulton! my most favorite pattern Old Country Roses, the name alone is sheer poetry, don't you think? I must agree with Madelief, the photo with the chair against the wall is absolutely beautiful. Keep 'em coming, your posts make my days XX (thanks for the link)

  10. Dear Kathy Noelle,

I read your reply to my comment yesterday, but did not reply. Now I have some more time! I enjoyed reading your reply very much. Can't believe that it's snowing in Vermont. Do you live up in the hills, or is there snow everywhere? In Holland dark clouds are gathering over the city. It won't be long before we will have thunder and lightning. It was a very warm spring day today (up to 23 celcius!!).

Tomorrow we celebrate the birthday of our queen. We are all free from work to celebrate. The towns and villages are one big flea market. Jan and I will go to Delft and enjoy the festivities and see if we can spot something beautiful!

Wish you good evening and thanks for letting me know about the pearls and flowers on your blog roll!!

    Lieve groet, Madelief
