Mother's Day

It's just been on my mind, lately, how fortunate I am to have the mom and dad that I have. I had an out of the ordinary upbringing and they've handed down so many things to me - just from being who they are. Obviously, it's made me who I am and I love my life! I love who I am! and it's so much because of them.

I am just so grateful!

So glad!

I love you both!!

and Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

  1. Hello Dearest Katy:

What wonderful, heartfelt words are expressed in this post, words which we are certain speak for so many of us who have been blessed with loving, caring parents. But, additionally, we are certain that on this day, theses self same words are echoed by your own three sons to a mother who cares for them so very, very much.

    1. oh, thank you so much dear Jane and Lance! :) We are all a bit quirky and so fit together beautifully - all the generations! I can't speak for my son's having had any revelations of gratitude about Tom and I but Toby was heard exclaiming, the other day, that he loved living here and none of them ever want to leave. They all want to grow up to live in our basement. If you only knew.... there's a bit of something strange and dark about that since our basement is dank and dark and full of spiders but I think that the thought is motivated in love! heehee.

      Smiles! xo xo

  2. Happy Mother's Day! Of course Mother's Day here in the UK is in March when all the daffodils are out. Sadly I lost my own dear mum as a very young adult which was terribly sad for my sister and myself and darling Dad became even more important to us, living a long and full life surrounded by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a great-great-grandchild!

Beautiful photos above - and my goodness your three boys have grown Katy!

    1. Oh, Jeanne! Life is so hard! And, yet, there is so often 'beauty for ashes'! Your Dad and family sound tremendous and endearing!

I can't believe how much they've grown, too! I am, now, obviously the shortest one in the family and, even my youngest son's (Toby's) voice has broken and husked up in just the last two months. sigh. Bittersweet!

      Thank you, Jeanne!!! :)

  4. Is this your mum Katy? She looks beautiful!!! You have her curls :-)

Hope you have had a lovely mothers day?! Looking forward to see photo's of your garden. Hope the snow has dissapeared and made room for bluebells, blossoms and perhaps a few tulips :-)

    Happy week!

    1. Oh, Madelief! How funny and perceptive you are that this is, indeed, my mom and that I have her crazy curly hair! ;) Mother's Day was beyond mellow but we had a very good visit with my dad. He was up at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center which is an hour or so away. Happily, he's coming home, today! :) Between everything, though, my garden is coming up beautifully but it is a horrific mess!! :P NO pictures till I can get out there and make things presentable! ;) :)

Love to you all!! :) xxo
