Hello, everyone!
I'm still around, even though it's been a day and an age since I last posted and I really should be telling you all about my garden or my home projects or I should be telling you about this year's flock of puppies or, maybe, even how "summer has come like cinnamon"...
But, I don't want to.
I want to tell you about my trip to the discount store!
(I don't know for sure but, it seems to me, that our little corner of the Blogosphere really enjoys finding treasures for a 'steal'.... which.... does make us sound a bit like we're pirates... especially since we really like to boast about it. Hmm! Well, if the shoe fits....)
And, speaking of shoes.... look what I found!
Cinderella's slippers, don't you think?!
I don't go to this discount store very often because I can easily wind up spending a fortune on things that don't cost very much.
It's a mystery, really!
This time, however, everything that I bought, was something that I had on my list of 'needs', including, this table cloth. I had seen a blue paisley table cloth in the Pottery Barn catalog, two years ago. I've spent hours looking for an alternative, less expensive way to gain one. I couldn't figure anything out for under $60! Two years I've been looking!!!
This one was exactly what I wanted - a Ralph Lauren table cloth for FOURTEEN DOLLARS!
Lucky me!
Then, I found a couple of mugs. I really needed different mugs because I'm cutting down my coffee intake to one cup a day which means I need larger cups!
which, also, means an awful lot of pleasant prettiness!
So,....
it's a pirate's life for me!!!
Lucky girl! What lovely finds! I never seem to see what everyone else does in discount stores...no fair!!!! i need to bring you with me! Cx

ReplyDeleteAre you having a wonderful summer over there in Vermont? I look forward to hearing about your new garden, I know how much it means to you, but its jolly hard work starting from scratch isn't it?
You did well with your bargains - those shoes are so pretty!

Dear Katy,
ReplyDeleteIt's been ages since I have visited your blog. Sorry! I am really a bit ashamed, but I didn't realise you did a post during our holiday.
You are right to post about your new things. I always find it difficult too to keep my new treasures for myself :-). Guess I am sort of a pirate too. Like you I love treasures for a steal!! Your shoes look like a fairytale and your tablecloth looks beautiful too!
What I wanted to let you know. I have a give-away on my blog with vintage cups. I can remember you saying that it is difficult to find vintage cups in your part of Vermont.....and I know you will love them. I hope you will take part!
Veel lieve groetjes,
Madelief xox
Hi Katy,
ReplyDeleteJust read your comment. So happy to hear you will be posting again. I really missed them! Glad to hear you are all ok and your garden is growing so beautifully. I hope you will show us some pictures soon. The last photo's of your garden that I can remember are of stones.....lot's of huge stones that had been moved ;-)! How is William Shakespeare doing?
You and the boys must be so happy having puppies around again. I can still remember last years photo's. The boys and the dogs looked like such a happy bunch!! Wish I could take the last one, but I don't think a dog would be to lonely in our house during the daytime, as everyone is at school or work. You never know....perhaps one day I will come and collect one in Vermont :-)!
I miss our friend Edith Hope very much too, but do you know that shortly after Edith stopped a new blog started, that looks very much the same as Edith's. Even the writing!!!! It's written by a husband and wife and I think you should have a look. It's called Hattatt. You can find it in the sidebar on my blog. You will be surprised!!!
Well that's it for now. Enjoy your Wednesday!
Lieve groet,
Madelief xox
Hello Katy:
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to let you know that we have loved receiving your comment and have replied.
We are so pleased to see that Madelief pointed you in our direction and that you made contact, through which now we have connected with you.
Your shoes are absolutely magical, quite the perfect footwear for dancing the night away or almost anything, really. We are sure that you will look wonderful in them and certainly have no need of glass slippers.
As for the bargain priced Ralph Lauren tablecloth, marvellous!
Hello Katy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment! It makes the sun shine ;o)
I've read the puppy story in your side bar, and I'm so happy to tell you: we also found a new puppy (our beloved Smilla died end of February)! I'll be showing pictures on my blog very soon. We've taken another Border Collie...
Hugs, Annelies
