This is what is so wonderful about b...Dear Katy!!!

This is what is so wonderful about blogging!! You get to see and hear things you would normally not - yes, there are the guide books, travel magazines and so on, but it is so refreshing to hear and see things through they eyes (and ears ;)) of real people!!! Love the story - still grinning - and loved the pictures! New England is SO beautiful!! I cannot get enough of the weather boarded buildings - if the UK was not so difficult when it comes to planing permissions, I'd have a weather cladded house but we need to 'fit' in here and living in a conservation area makes that even harder... The pictures of the fire place with the pinkish wall paper, the kitchen - just wonderful!!! LOVE the colours too (I am addicted to the Barefoot Contessa - did I tell you this before - just so - well, not just, like her and her cooking and garden and flowers too - I can get a glimpse at your wonderful houses in New England!! Vermont seems a little more real than those in the program, which I prefer!!!!!). And where do you find the time to put put such wonderful long and detailed posts????? I am VERY impressed!!!

AS for the camera - I keep my fingers crossed for you!!! - and not sure if this helps, but the 'big' Canon I tried out a while back (450) has now come down in price A LOT! There are two later models and they are stopping the 450. Now, there is nothing wrong with the 450 and it would have been my first choice, and if you are not into video, which I am not, you really do not need anything bigger - according to the guy in the shop, with the latest models you really pay for their new-ness..... And as the prices in teh UK are much higher than those in the States, I thought I'd mentioned it - you might be able to get a bargain!!! But certainly, it can be a VERY expensive hobby - luckily I don 't understand enough about it so will not have to go down that path!!!

Will you tell us when your birthday is? Are you planning anything nice? Sorry, very very nosey!!!

Have a lovely day!!!

Love

Nicolaseptember cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02301518017547252730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643421371427426990.post-16530657594080093702010-06-01T03:40:32.091-04:002010-06-01T03:40:32.091-04:00What a lovely outing, and a charming place to visi...What a lovely outing, and a charming place to visit. I have really enjoyed seeing all the farm animals (surprise?), including the sheep. And the wallpaper in the house is stunning. I have also enjoyed seeing what your "greenery" looks like, and it seems that you are at same stage of greening as we are. But today is the 1. of June, and summer is officially here. And I am grateful to report that we also have sunshine and warmth after the very chilly spring. Hope the same goes for you.Miahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07511372208366707895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643421371427426990.post-70164685550642568012010-05-31T22:49:44.572-04:002010-05-31T22:49:44.572-04:00beautiful photos and i agree, there's somethin...beautiful photos and i agree, there's something magical about a winding path.

xo
elyseElysehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03798112031329484014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643421371427426990.post-46401392764412939882010-05-31T13:54:49.327-04:002010-05-31T13:54:49.327-04:00Fabulous photo's!! I love taking a jump into the past....from the pictures and your description I gather that you and your family do as well!

I have been gasping at the chandelier you found. It is very beautiful. To have Irish crystal in your house! Lucky you to find it! We have a chandelier (hanging one) in our garden house, but also one in our bedroom. I still love them very much. They make me feel like a queen ;-)!

How are the little chickens? Did they arrive?

Wish you a happy new week!

Lieve groet, MadeliefMadeliefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05906326152435858221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643421371427426990.post-53190990775526989802010-05-31T09:32:08.849-04:002010-05-31T09:32:08.849-04:00It's me again. Hope you continue your travels so we may have a glimpse of other beautiful places;)

Now, I've just visited Catherine and could not stop laughing reading your comment about weeds and how your husband got you tweezers. That's hysterical! Now, between us, I DO like weeds, and some are so pretty I grow them in pots. Good thing my husband doesn't care, otherwise this "flaw" would sure be grounds for divorce! I´d like that, too :-) In the past, all people did their work with much more love, than today. It´s like "zen". I like it, to do things "zen". That means- you just do it- but with all your senses and with love- and: much more slowly, than normal! So I can imagine, the work on the fields was much more satisfactory, than today... all is so fast in this time. Nobody takes time for things to do... nobody does it´s work with love .

The photos with the animals are great! I love them so much!

And your little story- so cute :-))

Thank you for all...

Love and kisses from Ines!Ineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12672492981545845547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6643421371427426990.post-90936584993647450222010-05-31T00:17:29.898-04:002010-05-31T00:17:29.898-04:00Excellent story--need I say I'm sitting here w...Excellent story--need I say I'm sitting here with a big smile?!
